1.2.2 YOUR ATTITUDE HELPS SAFETY
Everyone must have a positive attitude to safety . Safety is a matter
for everybody from top to bottom.
What is your attitude?
It should include:
Being co-operative.
Being responsible,
A willingness to work safely
Thoroughly understanding your work
All
of the above will influence your positive attitude towards safety.
In
a safe working environment there is no place for TEMPER.
Temper can be the direct cause of accidents.
Remember it's your temper, and its up to you to CONTROL it at all
times.
1.2.3
TO ALL EMPLOYEES
Safety is the responsibility of each and every employee. It is not
the individual responsibility of the Job Supervisor, the experienced
employee, the Safety Committee, the Safety Officer, the Safety Department,
the Management or any unit alone. It is co-operative action at all
times that prevent injuries. To be a safe worker one must
learn the right way of doing things. All employees on any job must
be alert. If one employee fails to be alert he/she may cause injury
to himself/herself or one or more others.
In
most cases Specific Safety Rules will be explained to you by your
Host Trainers Supervisor for the job you are doing. However, if
this does not happen there is a distinct obligation on each employee
to know and to observe not only the General Safety Rules but also
the Safety Rules for the particular job you are doing. When transferring
to a new job, you are obliged to make yourself familiar with the
Safety of the new job.
Each
employee will be held strictly accountable, at all times, for the
knowledge and the observation of the safety rules contained in this
booklet, so please make sure that it is kept in good condition and
close at hand.
