1.2 INTRODUCTION TO BOOKLET ON SAFETY
The issue of safety is closely related to the cost of claims and premiums payable by the Plumbing industry for workers compensation and is also ultimately bound up with the impact of legislation on Occupational Health and Safety.

All major building construction sites now have a compulsory safety program and most major contractors in the building industry issue safety booklets their employees.

Master Plumbers Apprentices Limited believe that safety is an extremely important issue and that every one of its employees should be aware of safe practices and share in a complete knowledge of safe practices in the workplace.

This booklet which is by no means comprehensive of the subject of safety, does highlight some of the major areas where safety is an issue which can affect your livelihood and indeed, in certain circumstances, your life.

This booklet is produced as a service to our employees and additional copies are available on request.

No booklets on a subject as broad as safety is ever complete or up to date. We welcome comments and contributions from you, so that the next reprint of the booklet we can take steps to make your working environment a safe one.
