WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT AT WORK
In
the event that you have an accident at work, it is imperative that
the following steps be completed.
IF
MINOR INJURY REQUIRING FIRST AID TREATMENT OR A NEAR MISS:
Contact or notify immediate Host Trainer / Field Officer;
Seek First aid treatment;
Complete appropriate reports; and
Contact your Master Plumbers Apprentices Limited Field Officer or
Rehabilitation Coordinator.
IF
MEDICAL TREATMENT BUT NOT SERIOUS:
If possible contact or notify your immediate supervisor. In some
instances they may organise transport for you;
Seek Medical Attention. They may give you a Medical Certificate.
Contact the Master Plumbers Apprentices Limited Area Field Officer.
You will be required to complete workers compensation forms to enable
you to be paid. Without the appropriate forms completed, you may
not be paid, or you payments may be delayed.
IF
SERIOUS INJURY INVOLVING HOSPITAL:
Seek medical treatment immediately;
If possible notify the immediate supervisor who should contact Master
Plumbers Apprentices Limited as soon as possible;
You or someone authorised by you should contact Master Plumbers
Apprentices Limited as soon as able, to inform them of the appropriate
forms for workers compensation purposes as soon as possible. In
some instances you will be visited in hospital or at home if appropriate.
